It was the week that saw the last Hobbit movie premier on the red carpet, saw stars grace the red carpet for the London Evening Standard Leader awards and the week that Naomi Campbell opened her second fashion relief pop up shop. It seems London was also getting in the festive spirit this week as we saw Steve Coogan turn on the lights at Vivienne Westwood’s Burton Street store with celebs such as Kylie Minogue, Salma Hayek popping along to join in the festivities.
Elsewhere in London, Middle Earth met Leicester Square as the premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies got underway. Stars of the film including Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Martin Freeman and Evangeline Lily greeted the thousands of fans who queued outside the premiere hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars.
Over in Hollywood, two stars were honored with a spot on the Hollywood walk of fame. Both Christoph Waltz and Pharrell Williams bagged themselves stars.
Meanwhile in New York, Will I Am unveiled the latest technology in wrist technology at Bloomingdales while Rosario Dawson got into the holiday spirit as she helped kick off operation ‘Give with Gusto’ with Nescafe Dolce Gusto. She found herself surrounded by Christmas elves that then went off around the city to do good deeds.
There was lots of superhero talk this week as Warner Brothers announced that Jared Leto will take the late place of Heath Ledger as the Joker in the new super villain movie Suicide Squad alongside Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie. If all this wasn’t enough we also bring you news of Pharrell’s latest line for Adidas and he talks to us about his campaign for equality and how he hopes everything he campaigns for inspires people to pay it forward. Paparazzi mania hit the USA this week as Lady Gaga and Anna Kendrick were both hit with photographer frenzy. There is also red carpet gossip from the film premiere of Exodus: Gods and Kings as well as the dazzling outfits from the 10th Annual Unicef Snowflake Ball. To top that off the 57th Annual Grammy awards nominations have been released. Popstars Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Sam Smith will be competing against first time nominee Ariana Grande for best pop album. While Taylor Swift will be battling it out for record of the year. The show is broadcast on February 8th, so get it in your diaries.
