The Walking Dead Season 5 Premiere on Invitation Only
Horror cinema and television has a powerful grip on the human imagination, evoking visceral, responses of dread in the viewer. One of the most popular subgenres in horror cinema is the zombie film, where the dead come back to life and assault the living. American television series The Walking Dead, arguably the most successful horror television series of all time, has come to define a new style of apocalyptic zombie drama with its frenetic action and strong characterization.
Beginning screening in 2010, The Walking Dead tells the story of a small group of survivors, led by sheriff Rick Grimes, desperately trying to survive the aftermath of a bloody zombie apocalypse. The narrative focuses on the characters’s day-to-day struggles to maintain their humanity in a world of total societal collapse, where violent death at the hands of the zombie hordes is a daily occurrence, and where other humans present as great a level of danger as the dead themselves.
Season 4 ended on a nail-biting cliff-hanger with the characters imprisoned in a compound controlled by humans, who had degenerated into cannibals in the face of the zombie threat. With the anticipated arrival of season 5, Fashion One was on hand at the premiere to record the glamorous actions of the stars at the Los Angeles premiere.
