Fondation Louis Vuitton & Versace Hong Kong Flagship

Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH, has announced the opening of the Fondation Louis Vuitton museum in the Bois de Boulogne neighborhood in the outskirts of Paris. The museum will be a new glittering art and architecture gem for the French city. For the design, Arnault turned to renowned Canadian architect Frank Gehry to create a sprawling futuristic glass building, the result resembling a mixture between a spaceship and a cloud.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton will focus on 20th- and 21st-century art: Its 126,000-square-foot space will contain 11 galleries, a 350-person auditorium and a fine-dining restaurant. In addition to the permanent collection of LVMH, Arnault’s museum will also play host to temporary rotating exhibitions and artist commissions, with Gehry’s architectural projects for the Fondation the star of the museum’s inaugural exhibition.

Meanwhile, across the world, Versace has announced the opening of its second store in Hong Kong, the largest Versace flagship store in Asia which will occupy 732 square meters. The structure, conceived by Donatella Versace herself and designed in collaboration with English architect Jamie Fobert, blends classic Italian references with modernist detailing to create an environment referencing the lineage of the house, but also boldly looking to the future. Inside, customers can find the brand’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories and the Versace Home line. For the true Versace acolyte, the store contains a VIP room which provides a bespoke and exclusive shopping experience.
