Angelo Adkins, the two-year-old son of British singer-songwriter Adele, has won a huge five-figure sum in compensation for damages, following a privacy case court brought against photo agency Corbis Images UK. Adele and partner Simon Konecki filed the case against the photo agency which had published pictures of the child’s “milestone moments,” such as his first family outing and his first trip to the playground. The couple successfully argued that the photographs were taken and published globally, expressly against the family’s wishes.
The global financial crisis had a devastating effect on the world’s fashion economy and its aftershocks show no sign of diminishing. Milan-based fashion house Jill Sander, hit hard by the crisis, has been in a critical financial situation since 2013 and is now being forced to restructure. Founded in 1975, the label famed for its high-end minimalistic style has seen disappointing profits in recent years with a particularly dramatic deterioration of profits last year, with turnover falling from 110 million euros in 2012 to 72.5 million in 2013, while debt surged over the same period from 51.6 million to 74 million. The brand additionally suffered a net loss of 8 million euros in 2013. Plans to restructure include dismissing 50 out of a total of 140 employees, but the brand has said that none of the dismissals will be made from the creative departments.
American pop star Britney Spears has announced her upcoming lingerie collection for Danish company Change Lingerie. The affordable line will be a collection of classic sets of lingerie together with vintage-inspired bustiers and loungewear, including jersey camisoles, shorts and sweats.
